Join the GMB branch I50 (SEX WORKERS’ BRANCH)

–          Be recognised as a real worker and real trade unionist, at least by other workers in the labour movement

–          Campaign for the decriminalisation of sex work and for sex workers’ labour rights

–          Receive benefits from GMB: free legal advice, trainings (free English classes, self defence), and discounts on sex shops products

–          GMB can protect you against abuse or exploitation and represent you face to an employer. GMB won cases for sex workers who were outed in tabloids, discriminated against, fired from jobs for “putting into disrepute” the company they worked for, or were in conflict with an employer

–          Organise with other workers for better working conditions: stage fees, wages, harassment, safety, exploitation, abuse and bad practices, shifts, discrimination in workplace.

–          Find a safe space to meet and talk to other sex workers about your personal issues (relationships, family, clients, stigma)

–          Share information with other sex workers who have a good knowledge of the sex industries. (free sexual health services available, bad and good places where to work, bad clients and time wasters, good police contact to report crime, etc)

–          Pressure politicians to recognise your rights and who will take you seriously, by being part of a mainstream, legitimate and big organisation with more than 600.000 members

–          Take part in social events by and for sex workers (Sex Worker Open university, Sex worker Film Festival, Night of the Senses)

–          Prevent the closure of your workplace (clubs, flats, brothel, etc) by opposing pressures from prohibitionist groups
