Google’s whorephobia

Do you remember last May when Google censored an advert from the Irish sex worker organisation Turn Off the Blue Light?

Here is the info: http://www.turnoffthebluelight.ie/2011/05/27/google-discrimination-against-sex-workers/

This time, Google has decided to fund anti-sex worker organisations.

As a result, the US sex worker group SWAAY which already did the brilliant campaign few weeks ago “What is a sex worker” is calling for a collective action against Google.

See info here: http://www.swaay.org/action/google.html

Google gave a lot of money to anti-trafficking organisations which happen to be in fact anti-sex workers rights and Christian missionaries.

For those who haven’t followed what’s going on in the world about the rescue industry and its impact on sex workers, please read Laura Agustin’s blog: http://www.lauraagustin.com/rescue-industry-rejected-by-trafficking-victims-google-notwithstanding

If you really want to support an anti-trafficking organisation, consider those which are feminist, pro-sex workers and pro-migrants rights: http://www.gaatw.org/
